After taking one of these NVQs, you will have a qualification that shows employers and customers you have the skills to work in a range of jobs such as hotel receptionist, chef, bar tender and waiter/waitress.

They learned about the importance of maths in the workplace, creating their own pizzas and costing them up, taking orders and working out the bill. They then went on to make mocktails again embedding numeracy into their lesson. Afterwards, they sat down in Open Kitchen and enjoyed their own homemade pizzas!

Our courses run from Level 6 through to Level 8. You can choose to study part or full time – or you could become an Apprentice. We also offer work-based learning – so our assessors can come to you and assess you while you work. The options for achieving a qualification are vast!

The job opportunities in this sector are vast, and qualifications available at GC can provide you with the skills and knowledge for an exciting career choice.

Former student at GlosCol. I have worked in restaurants as a Sous chef with 6 -7 rosettes in Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire & Herefordshire and Head Chef at a Successful Gastro pub. Sous Chef at a Hotel in the French Alps. Chef/lecturer teaching professional cookery and professional chef course from level 6 – 8.

This resource explores the use of monologue in its written and performed forms. It is useful for all three units, but particularly for Unit A587: Drama in the making.
